Your working plan

A finish schedule you can hand off.

Quantities reconciled to purchasable units

Tile quantities use a conservative grid with no reuse of edge offcuts, then add your allowance. Paint and trim are rounded separately.

Before you act

  • A rectangular, straight-lay grid is assumed. Herringbone, diagonal layouts, pattern matching, irregular rooms, movement joints, and reusable offcuts need separate planning.
  • Adhesive, grout material, primer, ceiling paint, labor, delivery, tax, and tools are not included.
  • Verify wet-area waterproofing, electrical, plumbing, structural, and permit requirements with qualified professionals.

Calculation notes & limitations

Floor area = length × width. Wall area = 2 × (length + width) × height − opening area.

Grid cells along a dimension = ceiling((room dimension + grout joint) ÷ (tile dimension + grout joint)). Every cell consumes one tile before allowance; this is deliberately conservative.

Paint gallons = ceiling(wall area × coats ÷ entered coverage). Trim excludes the entered opening width, adds allowance, and rounds to feet; actual stock lengths can require more.

Saving is optional. Files and records never leave your browser through this app.
02 / Look under the hood

The method is part of the tool.

Measure the room, wall openings, and trim exclusions. Enter actual tile dimensions and packaging rather than nominal dimensions alone.

Calculate a conservative straight-lay grid, show centered edge pieces, add explicit allowance, and round to boxes.

Calculate wall-paint coverage and trim independently, then combine material costs in a staged purchase schedule.
