Finish Layout & Materials Planner / methodology notes

How Finish Schedule calculates your result

Coordinate tile, paint, trim, package rounding, and budget in one reproducible finish schedule. Keep waste and layout assumptions editable.

Start with evidence, not a score

Measure the room, wall openings, and trim exclusions. Enter actual tile dimensions and packaging rather than nominal dimensions alone. Calculate a conservative straight-lay grid, show centered edge pieces, add explicit allowance, and round to boxes.

Read the assumptions

Calculate wall-paint coverage and trim independently, then combine material costs in a staged purchase schedule. This is a finish-quantity estimate, not architectural, engineering, waterproofing, or code-compliance documentation. Verify the installation system before buying.

Use a reproducible workflow

Enter your own measurements or import records using the published CSV schema. Save a local scenario before making a change, compare the result, and export a copy with the assumptions intact. Example inputs are not a verified catalog or a live data feed. The source references explain the underlying terminology; they do not independently verify information you enter.
